Outfit of the day: Comfy Cozy

Hello! I’m sorry this week has been slim on posts. But I have some exciting news; FanExpo is 5 days away!!!

So these photos are from yesterday morning. I would have posted them last night, but I spent all of last night costuming!

Image

This sweater was bought for me as a christmas gift, and honestly I didn’t think I would like it, but I wear it more then I would have thought! It’s brown and fuzzy like a towel, but for some reason I find ways to make it super trendy(…?)

The weather has turned really cold for this time of year. I’m hoping it last for FanEx, so we can step out side and cool down! Hahaha.

The unfortunate thing is that all of my warm cloths are very fall looking. So I do my very best to keep things looking seasonal, while still staying warm.

Image

This purse is, however, the best part of my outfit! I bought it when I was in Edinburgh at a store that I unfortunately can’t remember, nor could I find with my eyes open and a map. My tour guide on the Haggis bus tour, told us all when he dropped us off;

“The best way to see this city is to get lost in it and then find yourself again.”

So I did just that, and had a fantastic time doing it.

Also, I found my favourite casual glasses again! I keep losing these suckers cause I don’t wear them all the time. But I love them to bits. (And yes, these are prescription glasses.)

William Shakespeare: Abridged

Well folks. I’m at it again. Impromptu Productions has suckered me into costuming a very impromptu production. (See what I did there!)

So I have no outfit of the day for you. My last two days off were spent running around like a mad woman trying to get everything for the play tomorrow night!

Image

This is technically my 4th play to costume for Impromptu, and although it’s stressful as hell, I always come away with the greatest friendships. It helps that all of the cast members I have ever had the honer of costuming sure know how to party!

Image

Photo was taken a few months back for our double play; Romeo and Juliet, and Mercutio and His Brother Valentine.

Image

I also finished up dead Ophelia. I think she looks great! Mitch was nice enough to hang out for the morning while I finished up. We ended up saving the day by going out for ice cream and a walk downtown. It might have been a simple date, but I quite enjoyed myself.

I unfortunately didn’t make it to the masquerade the other night. But I promise I will post photos of the costume. I plan on wearing it at FanExpo anyways, so you’ll be seeing it in about 10 days!

I’ll leave you with a parting photo! My lovely mother bought some new summer cloths, so when she went out today she gussied herself right up. I thought I should share her outfit with the world!

Outfit of the day: Bunny dress

I can’t even explain this dress, of my love for it. It makes no sense and needs to be belted, but it is a fantastic H&M find. One that is so unique, that I am shocked that I ever found it. And for only $10!

Image

As you can see it’s as cute as a button. It’s a size large, but the elastic waist goes for miles, and in fact I have to belt it to keep it on. Hahaha!

Image

I have to wear a slip underneath  as it’s a see-through as sin, but I quite like that bonus. Like I’ve said before about being able to add my own underthings to a dress. Today I had a fitted slip, next time I’ll wear black booty shorts and a body suit.

Image

Keepin’ with the cute; my finder has cat ears!

Well, I’m keeping it short today. I plan on going to a masquerade tomorrow night. I was invited by the director of the play I’m costuming to fill in as an extra for a movie they’re filming in town. A modern day version of The Phantom of The Opera. I’ll be sure to get pictures of my costume before I go!

Belt: Costa Blanca (Man I need a new rope belt. lol!)

Outfit of the day: Lazy for Starbucks

So I have a wicked cold. It’s the kind that you know isn’t dragging you down enough to miss work, but will be with your for a long time. So I’ve decided to take a trip to Starbucks and get myself a coffee.

I don’t know how this will help my cold, but at least I’ll get out of the house before I leave for work.

Image

I found this little poncho at Value Village a couple years ago. It always makes me feel comfortable, I just never get a chance to wear it.

Image

I always like to brake it up with something. So today I’m using a scarf. Normally I wear large amounts of necklaces, or if I’m feeling trendy I’ll wear a button down shirt and have the caller stand out over it.

Image

Another VV find that I wear to feel comfortable is my AC/DC t-shirt. I’m not a t-shirt wearing girl, as they have to fit all of my requirements; and I have many. But this one fits the bill, so I tend to wear this allot.

Normally I wear it tucked into long skirts, but I also enjoy these shorts on occasion, and I feel I don’t wear them as much as I should.

Image

I find that the best way to wear this T-Shirt is with the sleeves cuffed. I tried it on at Value Village when i was there with some friend. I loved it but felt that something was missing. Just then my friend Melodie walked over and cuffed one of the sleeves. It was true T-Shirt love at first cuff. ❤

Image

Socks and Mocs; needed to happen. I’ve been having feet problems to the eXtreme, and yesterday was my feet ‘checkup’. So they’re wrapped up like mummies at the moment.

Image

On a happy note, here is a photo of my bashful cat. She’s the most annoying creature that has ever graced my house, but we somehow manage to co-exist.

Now, off to get Starbucks!

Outfit of the day: Fully Fashioned – Part 2 of 2

So, after a full day of walking around and eating everything, we all went to Matt and Rachel’s going away party!

Image

I was told by my pre-drinkng group of friends to suit up! And as Matt is known for suiting up all the time, I came prepared!

Image

I had such a fun time in this dress. It’s really figure flattering and fun to dance around in. A huge downside is the sequins; as the bodice has no trim around the top the sequins dig into my back, not to mention my arms end up chafed.

As soon as I got home Mitch zipped my out of the bust and I drunkenly ate pizza with just the skirt around my hips and my strapless braw. Getting out of that dress was almost as good as the pizza!

Image

I have quite a few hair pieces that I never get to wear. I have since forgotten where I bought this from but it is my less obvious pieces, and I think I wear it the most!

Image

I just tossed my hair into a bun of swirls by wrapping a large chunk of hair around a smaller pony tail. Pinned the bun into place, then I used the smaller pony tail to create the swirls. It was really easy, and made everything look simple, yet elegant.

Image

These are my Iron Fist wedges. I love them! I want more. They are as comfortable as can be expected, and they’re light; which makes them easy to last the night in. The only downside is that the front curves upward, making it a challenge to stay balanced when you’ve had a few to many. They are also smooth on the bottom, so they don’t keep their grip well. I had a few spills on account of them, but it was worth it!

Image

The basement of The Mansion was rented out for the occasion, and they had Karaoke set up for us to burst some ear drums! It was our group’s tradition to go to The Sizzle every Wednesday and sing Karaoke. The clientele mostly consisted of us, and some hotel regulars (as it was connected to a hotel), so we had free run of the place. About 6 months ago the restaurant changed owners, and Karaoke at The Sizzle was shut down.

King St Sizzle holds some very fond memories for me. Not only did my singing land me a job as a burlesque dancer, but I also met my boyfriend Mitch there – and we’re still going strong a year and a half later! He still tells me I have a beautiful voice! Ha ha ha.

Image

We did our pre-drinking at my best friend Jed’s mom’s place (he’s the redhead). He was back in town for the weekend with his girlfriend Katie (in white shorts). I have more stories then I can remember, all about crazy parties there. It was just like being in high school again, only I think we all dress much better!

Image

As you can tell, we all got decidedly more drunk as the night progressed. I wish we had large group parties more often. I’d say at least 60 people showed up over the course of a night, and they had an after party!

Image

Have a great time in England Matt and Rachel! We will miss you!

Outfit of the day: Fully Fashioned – Part 1 of 2

Hello folks! I had a full day last Saturday! I spent the morning teaching a lovely little friend of mine how to sew her dolls some cloths. She did great! (I’ll be sure to ask her mom if I can take photos for next time!)

Saturday was the Princess St. Promenade!

Image

Princess Street is the main drag in Kingston. It stretches from the waterfront all the way to the West end of town, where it turns into a highway. The event includes non for profit booths, local shops selling goods, and free activities for kids; including rock wall climbing and jumpy castles.

ImageMy outfit for the first part of my day was a summer dress I just bought this year!

ImageI really enjoy the shape of the skirt. The front and back are long – which covers the important bits – but the sides are short, allowing me to show off some leg. (Which we all know is my favourite thing to show off!)

ImageIt also has straps that tie around my neck, but I much prefer just relying on my strapless bra to old things up. That way I can wear a necklace!

ImageThere are a few factors as to why I bought this dress. Number one; I really wanted a new summer dress, number two; the skirt, and number three; this fabulous retro flower pattern! I haven’t seen anything this dated in a long time. I swear, if I hadn’t bought it from Sears myself, I would have assumed it was made out of an old bed spread from the 70’s.

ImageAs I planned on doing a large amount of walking, wedges were a necessity.

I’m sorry this post was so late, I had planned on posting it with photos of the day, but complications have come up. But I i promise I will post them soon!

Outfit of the day: Good morning blue bird

Image

It’s early. Really, really early. But! As I was to busy gallivanting around last night to post anything I figured I needed to do it.

Image

I’m actually going to work, then going out. So this skirt will be sitting in my bag for most of the day. 😦 But as least I’ll look HAWT tonight!

Image

My best friend is coming to town. Jed lives in London Ontario, so we don’t get to see each other very much. I can’t wait to have a few pints and catch up with him and his lovely girlfriend, who is also names Katie.

Image

Image

About a year ago, when I was traipsing through Europe, I found this lovely plus size clothing and shoe store called Evens! They were having a red, blue, and white sale . So I bought up everything that wasn’t nailed down. These shoes (and the same red counter parts) are my all time favourite kitten heel. I never match them to an outfit, I match an outfit to them! Hence the blazer. Ha ha!

Image

And on a parting note, Look what came in the mail!!!! That’s right ladies and gents, I’m going to FanExpo again this year, only this time for the full weekend!!! I can’t wait to show you my costumes and everything else!

Have a great morning!
